Captiva Island - Tween Water

Monday, June 15-Wednesday, June 17, 2020
Day miles - 30  Total miles - 3501
Total Travel days - 59  Total days - 137

The "Location - Where are we" tab had now been updated.  Blue was phase 1, Red was phase 2, and Green is current.

So picking up on Monday from the last blog post.  We met Mark and Debbie at Joe's Crab shack that is here at the marina.  We had a couple of cold drafts for happy hour and then went to Izzy's for dinner.  Mark and I had the $1.00 blue point oysters and we had snapper for dinner.  Dinner was OK, but we had higher expectations.  After dinner we walked down to the Cigar Bar.  Mark and I had a cigar and Marcia and Deb sat with us for a little bit before they walked back to the boat and Deb left to go home.  Mark and I sat with Rick for a little while and finished our cigars.  I did have to indulge and have another Blantons.  Mark came back to the boat and it was a nice night so we sat up on the bridge and had another cigar and a few nightcaps.

On Tuesday, Marcia and I took a walk along the water and then up into town again.  Not much going on, but we did decide to have lunch at Ford's Garage.

We made plans to meet up with Mike and Deb from Carousel who picked us up and drove to dinner at Deep Lagoon.  Food was really good and we had fun catching up with them some more.  Yes Alyssa (and Maggie) they had Gumbo.

After dinner we drove over to see their Condo and then back to the boat.

View of Legacy Marina - can kind of see our boat down on the left.
As we got back to the boat, we did catch the last bit of the sunset.

On Wednesday morning, we were on the move again, doing a 30 mile run over to Tween Water Resort on Captiva Island.  It was a beautiful day to cruise.

Technically we crossed our Florida wake, but a ways to go before we cross on the Ohio River

We arrived at the marina around 11:30.  After getting the boat secured and checking in, we had a quick lunch on the boat and packed up to go to the beach.  The beach was very nice.  Sand was hot but the water was perfect.  We hung out on the beach all afternoon.  We did take a walk down the beach and saw where they were filming a commercial.  We were asked to move on as the model was in a bra.  We both thought it was a  swim suit top but did not argue and moved on.

After the beach we just had dinner on the boat and took it easy.

They were calling for rain today, but so far it has been beautiful.  After lunch we headed up to hang out at the pool.
