Friday:

We departed Friday morning in a high wind of 12mph with gust around 20.  We decided to go, mainly because we only had about 17 miles to travel.  I know that the waves would be high on Lake Michigan, but most of the travel would be up Little Traverse Bay where we would be protected.  It did get a little rocky when we got out onto the Lake.  It was uncomfortable, but we made it to Charlevoix without issue.  Marcia had been checking the reservation site everyday for over 3 weeks to try and get us into the Marina, and it finally paid off as we got in for Friday and Saturday night.

Traveling up the Bay
Hard to see, but the waves were 2-4 foot.

Coming into the Charlevoix breakwall
We had to wait for the bridge to open to into the protected Bay.

Tied up at the dock.  Grateful the wind was not as strong in the Bay.
The marina here is very nice with some very expensive boats.  So far all the Michigan marinas have been very nice.
The little one in the back is Boyle-n-Water

After doing the normal daily shutdown and cleanup, we showered and walked up into town.  There were a few nice shops and plenty of places to eat.  There was also a small grocery store about 1/2 mile from the boat, so we walked in to check it out.  We did not have our wagon with us so did not buy much.  Exiting the store, I spotted a Barber shop and decided to get a much needed haircut.  Definitely got my money's worth as he only used the clippers, no scissors.   Felt like I was going into Boot Camp.  We decided to eat dinner on the boat and then take a walk around town to see the Mushroom Houses.  They were very cool to see, and all made out of the local stone.

After the houses we walked along the lake to see the beach and lighthouse along with some other interesting views.
Ferry going through the bridge.

Weathervane restaurant.  It looked very good, but we did not end up eating there.
On Saturday morning we walked up into town and had breakfast at Smoke on the Water.  Marcia had the drunken French toast and said it was the best that she has ever had.  I got the basic eggs, bacon, hash browns and sausage gravy.

Back at the boat we set up the wagon and walked to the grocery store to pick up a few supplies.  We did a few chores on the boat, showered and walked up to Bridge Street Brewery for an early dinner.  Both of our dinners were excellent.

Marcia's panko crusted walleye.
My seafood diablo with shrimp, mussels, scallops and craw daddies.
We took another walk after dinner so see more of the town.  The view of the lake was amazing.

Looks to be another rough day on the lake tomorrow, so we are deciding to stay or try and move on.

So some people have been inquiring as to how Cluck Norris is doing.  I am happy to say that he is still here riding out the trip in his safe spot.
