St Petersburg, FL

Stats Thursday / Friday 11/08/19:  Total days - 59, Travel days 35,  Miles today - 55, Total mile - 2142

We left Tarpon Springs in sunny 80 degree weather.  First time in a while that I was sweating at 8:00 in the morning.  Was a nice run over to Tampa Bay.  It was only 55 miles, but a lot of it was at idle speed as we came down the GICW through Clearwater and Treasure Island.  There were quite a few bridges that we had to go under.  We had to have 2 of them lifted.  The others were showing 24 feet at the center.  With the antennas down we were able to get under them without having to have them lifted.  The water and houses are really nice here.  Can't take pictures of them all.

We decided to rent a car at St. Petersburg to drive around and check out the area.  Enterprise was only a 1/2 mile away, so we walked down around 4:00 to get the car.  Small office, and as I walked in I noticed that there were not many cars in the lot.  We had reserved an economy car as it was the cheapest.  When we got into the office, there were not any economy cars available, so we got an Audi Q7 suv.  It was a nice surprise.  We went into downtown to eat dinner on the water.  Very nice nice area and dinner was great.

Marcia got the lobster tail, and I had the seafood chili and seafood linguine (with shrimp, mussels, scallops and fish).  Yes! we are eating again.
We walked around town after dinner.  Doubt we walked it all off.

Since we had the car, we drove around St Pete today (Friday) and saw some of the area.  We were hungry for lunch and ate Beef O'Gradys.  It was not as nice as the one in Punta Gorda, if that is possible.  We did stop into the St. Petersburg Yacht Club to check it out.  VERY nice, but I have not opened the email with the cost yet.  I am guessing it is a tad more expensive than Four Seasons.  We did a quick stop at Publix for a few groceries and then back to the boat.  We returned the Audi and then did some chores on the boat.

Hoping for good weather as we cross Tampa Bay heading for Bradenton tomorrow.
