Saturday:

So after some chores in the morning, we made plans to walk up to the Cajun festival at the park next door, still in Norfolk.  I did manage to finish buffing and waxing the transom.  The Cajun festival was a bit of a let down.  One food booth and one art booth.  The jambalaya was average at best.  Marcia did enjoy her beignets but said the Hurricane tasted more like Kool-Aid.

The art booth was selling actual crawdad jewelry.  Thought of Leona DeNardi for some reason.

After lunch, we walked over to the Veterans memorial.  They did a nice job with letters that look like they were blowing in the wind.  Actual letters from the 1800's up until just a few years ago.
We are also officially at the end, or start, of the Atlantic Intra-costal Coastal Waterway.

Sunday:
Leaving Norfolk on Sunday, we saw the scenery change.  Lots of container ships off loading and many Naval repair ships.

Exiting Elizabeth River we turned left to head up the Chesapeake Bay heading for the York River at Yorktown and Gloucester Point.
York River had a courtesy car at the marina, so we made use of it with a quick trip to Food Lion.  We ate dinner at York River Oyster Club.  Turned out to be a simple but good dinner.

Oysters to start
Bacon burger with egg
Marcia's fish tacos.

Monday:
I did notice that our bow and stern thrusters were not working very well, and it was probably time to change out the 4 battery's.  We did get about 6 years out of them, so it was time.  I tried to get Deltaville Boat Yard to do it, but they laughed at me.  After arriving at the marina, I went to work pulling out the old battery's, and had NAPA set up to deliver the new ones.  It was a major pain as expected.  At least 7 new cuts and almost a pint of blood, but they are changed out.  We did use the courtesy car for a quick ride to West Marine, but nothing too exciting.

Tuesday:
We left around 8:00 heading across the bay for Crisfield.  Beautiful day on the bay with low winds and no waves.  Cute town, not a lot here, a few shops and eateries.  We are here for 2 days, so will explore a little and plan to do some chores.
