Thursday

So we absolutely made the right decision by skipping a stop and going straight to Cape May on Thursday.  The cruise through the C&D Canal and then up the Delaware Bay was nice.  A lot of wide open and I was able to get up and run for about 2 hours.  A few people have been asking about my coolant leak.  So far (fingers crossed), it seems to be doing OK.  I have cruised for about 4 hours on plane and it has not leaked so hoping for the best.

Entering the canal at Cape May
It turned out that there were a lot of other Looper boats at Cape May with us.  We all had "dock-tails" on Thursday evening.

Friday

It was extremely windy on Friday, with sustained winds in the upper 20's and gusts up to 40.  We took an Uber to the ACME food market to get some groceries.  I looked for the ACME Rockets and the Coyote but could not find them.  We also found that you have to purchase beer and liquor at a State store and not the grocery store.  We took a walk around town and then went to the Lobster House for dinner.  We ended up going with 2 couples doing the loop.  By the time dinner was done, the predicted rain and wind moved in.

Saturday

Not much to say about Saturday.  High wind and rain.  I don't think we got off the boat.

Sunday

On Sunday we walked the mile to the State store to pick up some essentials, like beer.  We decided to Uber back instead of walking with the beverages.  Although not a pretty day, it was not raining.  We did some chores around the boat and then met the group for Happy Hour
A few of us then walked next door for dinner at the Pizza place.

Monday

We walked up to the Salt Water Grill for breakfast Monday morning.  Sun came out but still windy.  We did chore most of the day on the boat.  Later in the day friends that we met on Wanderer, Louis and Jody at the Joe Wheeler Looper Rendezvous in September of 2019 came into the marina.  We had Happy Hour on our boat and then walked over to Lucky Bones for dinner.  It was great seeing and catching up with them.

Tuesday

On Tuesday we headed out into the Atlantic.  We had not been on it since coming back from the Bahamas last year.  It was a good choice to wait out the winds until today.  It was a smooth 43 mile day on the Ocean.

Leaving Cape May
Atlantic City

The Farley State Marina at the Golden Nugget is a very nice marina.  A lot of Viking's here.

After lunch, we took the Jitney shuttle to the boardwalk where we again met up with Louis and Jody.  It was an enjoyable walk around Atlantic City.

A few of the restaurants here at the Marina are only open on the weekends, so we opted to just eat dinner on the boat.  Again due to weather we have changed our plans.  We were going to stay 2 nights here, then to Brielle NJ, then Staten Island for the weekend.  Friday is predicted to be windy and 5 foot waves so we cut a day out here and will try to stay at Staten Island on Thursday.  We also added a night at Liberty Landing on Monday.  Plans set, again.  We will keep an eye on the weather as Thursday afternoon still looks pretty bad.  Thought is that we can get into Staten Island before it turns bad.

Hoping for good weather and low winds.
