Wednesday 9/18
So we are just kind of hanging out at Green Turtle Bay marina for a few days. It is a very nice marina so a good place to take a break. Marina has a nice ship store, the Thirsty Turtle bar and grill, 2 outdoor swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool, workout room, yacht club dinner place, free shuttles, golf carts, nice shower house, etc...
We cooked up some bacon, eggs and hash-browns for breakfast. After breakfast we decided to do some chores on the boat. I did some checks in the engine room and began washing the boat. Marcia was cleaning and vacuuming the inside and did another load of laundry. After cleaning we walked up to the ship store. They did not have the burgee mount and pole that I was looking for, so I ordered it off Amazon Prime and it is supposed to arrive on Friday.
We then decided to do some trip planning and now have the next week planned out. Hoping the weather will hold out for us. Several Loopers stopped by to tell us about Docktails tonight. We walked up to a big tent around 5:00 and hung out for a couple of hours. There were probably about 10 couples there and it was good to meet everyone. Took our own beer and some crackers and dip to share. Most everyone brought some kind of snack to share. Went back to the boat and hung out with the boat next to us for awhile and turned in.
I don't know why Maggie and Sam think this hunting thing is hard. Heck, I could have walked up to the deer and stabbed them.
So this coon was looking a little sickly. Still made me laugh and think about brother in law RJ Kuhn
Thursday 9/19/19
Thursday morning we used the free van to go into town. We had breakfast at a local spot and then went to the local market. Not Kroger, but had some of the basics. We had made plans to hookup with old friends from Rivertowne Dan and Angie. They did the loop a few years ago and now have a condo on Lake Barkley. They came to the boat shortly after lunch up with some sweets. Bourbon Balls and cake stuff. (Yes, Maggie I will try to force it down)
We put them to work helping turn the boat around and Marcia and I dropped the dinghy in the water. We put the boat back and then went out for a dinghy ride. Yep, it rode well.
After that they drove us to the Oasis for dinner and treated us to a good meal. Kickin' Cajun pasta and brisket. You can guess which one I had and which one Marcia had. Went back to their condo after dinner and hung out for a while. It had a great view of Lake Barkley, but the picture did not turn out well on my phone. It was pretty quiet when we got back to the boat, so we watched a show and turned in.
Dan and Angie at their condo.
I did have a bottle of his son's home brew. (Dan's last name is Frick)
Guess the blog would not be complete without a picture or two of Lucy. She appears to like helping Marcia fold the laundry.
Will try to update blog again in a couple of days.
