So a little easier to recap today since I am only doing 1 day. Since we pumped out and fueled up yesterday, we were ready to leave when we were ready. We left around 9:00 and headed for Paris Landing, about 40 miles up the Tennessee river on Kentucky Lake. Hard to believe, but I managed to stay off of the throttles and run at 10mph. It was a little cloudy when we left, but it got hot fast. It felt even hotter as we were running with the wind, so not much breeze at 10mph. Lake is nice and wide with some islands. This is new water for us from here on out.
Pulled into Paris Landing in just about 4 hours. Nice quiet marina. Fueled up and then tied up to our slip. Fuel mileage is better, but hard to tell because I still have the last 150 miles of the Ohio River on this fill up. This is a State Park, so we might take a walk / hike to the nature center and check out a trail. Waiting for the heat to break.
Coast Guard barge full of channel markers.
Marina Office
Restaurant is closed here tonight, so made the decision to cook on the boat an easy one. Going to take it easy and try to recover from 6 nights at Green Turtle Bay.
Looking good Pat! How's getting the new dingy off compared to the other one?
ReplyDeleteGoes up and down about the same. Nice that if it bangs the side it is rubber and not fiberglass. Little more work getting it situated correctly on the rack, but will figure that out with time. BTW - who is asking?
